Ski Resort Tycoon
Ski Resort Tycoon is created by Cat Daddy Games and published by Activision Value. It places you in the ski resort business, trying to create and manage a five star ski resort. You have several lifts to choose from, and many many buildings to make more money and attract more guests. Some of these buildings include:
- Movie Theatre
- Restaurants
- Hotels and Cabins
- Ski Rental
- Ski Patrol
- Mentainance
The game play in this game is pretty good, similar to any other sim/tycoon game. You make money, build something and make more money. But in my opinion, it is a little too easy. One of the best features is that you can have a 3d perspective from anywhere in the resort. You can follow a skiier around, or just stand still at a building or lift.
You have a few scenarios to play, all of which are pretty
easy. You also have the choice to just play and build a resort, with no
requirements. You can shoose from several set mountains to work with. A
random mountain generator would have been nice, but is not include, so
you'll have to be satisfied with the choices they give you.
It does include mountain editing though, so once you start,
you can change the mountain to your liking, all for free (except tree removal).
You can raise and lower land, add moguls, remove moguls, and remove trees.
You can also make snow and groom the snow once you build a snowmaker building.
In all this is a great game, one other thing it is missing
though is an ability to rotate the view, without it, it is difficult to
tell where you are placing something if there are trees in the way, or
buildings in front of it.
